Incandescent: one curve for all
With old filament lamps a generic setting was enough: different lamps behaved more or less the same way.
SOL-7000 · Lamp profiles
An incandescent lamp dims predictably. A dimmable LED lamp does not: each one has its own electronics and responds in its own way. That is why we measure lamps one by one and write a dedicated profile for each, which the SOL-7000 uses to make truly gradual dawns and dusks.
The problem
With old filament lamps a generic setting was enough: different lamps behaved more or less the same way.
Inside every LED lamp there is a different driver. One stays off and then switches on suddenly, another flickers at low light, another reaches full power too early.
We measure how each model responds and the SOL-7000 corrects the command in real time: the light in the room rises and falls smoothly, as in nature.
The curves
The controller sends the lamp the same command. See how much light actually comes out of each one.
Illustrative curves: they show typical behaviour, not measured data.
In practice
Same controller, same program. On the left an LED lamp dimmed with the generic curve, on the right the same lamp with its profile.
On the SOL-7000
The profile is set from the page Dimmeraz. tipo. Each profile carries the name of the lamp it was measured for: choose yours and confirm. From then on dawn, dusk and night light use the right curve.
The profile name is the lamp model: OSRM-11W-602557 is the OSRAM 11 W, PHP-11.2W-347946 the Philips 11.2 W, LXM-11W-977813 the Lexman 11 W. Try the panel buttons alongside.
Already mapped
These lamps were measured in our laboratory and their profile is already in the SOL-7000. You can buy them here: connect them, choose the profile with the same name and they work.

Generic profile, for existing systems with compatible filament lamps.
Have a different lamp? You can map it yourself, directly from the SOL-7000: see below.
Custom profile
From the same page Dimmeraz. tipo you open Mappa lampada: a guided procedure in which the SOL-7000 lights your lamp and you tell it, by looking at it, where it switches on, where it is at full power and how it grows in between. At the end the controller tests it by itself and saves it as the profile Custom.
The Custom profile stays in memory even after a power cut or a parameter reset. Lamps already mapped by Season Generator remain the simplest choice: the map is already done and tested.
Our method
Every profile comes from our test bench. The work takes four steps.
We mount the lamp in the dark, connected to a laboratory SOL-7000, with a light sensor in front of it.
The controller takes the lamp from off to full power in small steps. At each step we record how much light actually comes out.
From the measurement we derive the correction for that model. The profile is loaded into the firmware with its SG-LMP code.
We run dawns, dusks and night light for days: no flicker, no jumps, no early switch-off. Only then is the profile ready.
The SOL-7000 performs best with lamps that have already been measured. Lamps bought elsewhere may need checking: even two “dimmable” lamps can behave very differently.
